United Concordia offers a number of different dental plans; you may have been able to choose between a few of them when you signed up for dental benefits through your employer. Many of their available plans are PPO in nature, meaning that they allow you to visit any licensed dentist or specialist without a referral.

You will need to look at the details of your plan to find out for sure how it works. In the meantime, here is an overview of the coverage that is standard with many PPO dental policies:

• Preventive services, such as cleanings, exams, and X-rays, are usually 100% covered.
• Basic services, often including fillings and non-surgical extractions, are often up to 80% covered.
• Major services, such as crowns, dentures, and other extensive procedures, are usually up to 50% covered.

Keep in mind that your plan may also have a deductible and a waiting period before you can use it for certain restorative services. Additionally, you may be subject to an annual maximum, which places a yearly limit on how much United Concordia will pay for approved services within a calendar year.

As an in-network United Concordia dentist, we have a contract with your insurance company that helps to keep your out-of-pocket costs to a minimum. We may even be able to schedule major treatments in a way that makes it possible for you to use two annual maximums instead of just one.
